LEARN ABOUT DRY FOAM
Thank you for taking the time to read the facts about carpet and upholstery cleaning. I appreciate educated customers. The Von Schrader Air Cell Extraction Technology system is the only method of carpet and upholstery cleaning I would use in my own home. You can thoroughly research the facts if you have the time and are willing to take the effort, but with all of my years of experience I have already done that for you. You see folks, it is really just a matter of common sense since there are only so many methods of carpet and upholstery cleaning out there. Over-wetting, trying to do it yourself, or just letting it go are all bad choices if you want to extend the life of your carpet.
HOW DOES STEAM CLEANING CAUSE DAMAGE?
The most common method is the so called “state of the art” truck mounted steam cleaning method. First of all, it is not actually steam that is being shot into your carpet—it is just a lot of hot water. This hot water is brought into your house through a truck mounted hose, which is dragged across your landscape, driveway, or garage. It is then transferred through a wand where a metal head is dragged backward on your carpet and the hot “steam” is supposedly extracted from your carpet. Therein lies the problem. When hot water is blasted into your carpet, it often goes right through the carpet backing (which is not meant to resist liquids) and carries part of the dirt with it, doing damage to your carpet, your padding, and possibly even the floor underneath it. |
To relate it to your clothing, your carpet also has colored or “dyed” fibers. Would you continuously wash your clothes in hot water? That probably wouldn’t be a good idea, as this would leave them shrunk and faded. The same thing can happen to your carpet if it is subjected to hot water! It can result in color loss, shrinkage, destruction of the backing, humping (causing it to need to be stretched) and possible mold and mildew from the water trapped under the surface trying to dry out. There is also usually a minimum of 24 hours for drying time. Do you want to wait that long to use your carpet again?
No matter what the price of this method is, it can eventually lead up to bigger costs in the long run from premature carpet and padding wear due to all of the hot water! It should also be noted that part of the dirt that is driven through your carpet backing reappears as it dries and you walk on it. This is called resurfacing and gives the appearance of needing your carpets cleaned prematurely, which costs you more money, only to have the same process done to your carpet again and again until you eventually have to replace your carpet because you believe it is worn out from use. More money!
The other methods include dry cleaning and shampooing. These systems generally do not get your carpet too wet, however, they do not get it too clean either because nothing picks up the dirt deep down in your carpet. |
How We Compare
With the Von Schrader Air Cell Extraction Technology system (only ten percent moisture), you get a deep down cleaning with a brush containing 150,000 bristles that dig deep down to the base of your carpet and lift the dirt to the surface. The dirt laden foam is then simultaneously vacuumed up and reduced to a pan of dirty water. A carpet rake is then used to return the carpet to its normal appearance, which results in an improved drying time. With the Von Schrader process, you get a deep down cleaning with no harm to carpet backing or padding, no leftover residue, and a normal drying time of one to two hours. There is no better, safer way to clean your carpet and upholstery.
With Meticulous, you also get all furniture in the room removed and replaced, a complete room vacuuming with a high quality vacuum, and all highly soiled areas and spots pre-treated before we even start the Von Schrader system. Stubborn spots are also treated during the raking process. All this at no additional charge!
Folks, don’t get soaked— don’t accept a surface cleaning or additional hidden charges—call Meticulous for a job done right and find out why so many people are satisfied and never again have to search for another method of carpet and upholstery cleaning. |
